About Me, or better yet why me?

"Every image embodies a way of seeing. Even a photograph. For photographs are not, as is often assumed, a mechanical record. Every time we look at a photograph, we are aware, however slightly, of the photographer selecting that sight from an infinity of other possible sights."

—John Berger, Ways Of Seeing

nice to meet you

Thank you for taking the time to learn about the person behind the camera and this website! I'm Lisa, I love dogs, aviation, and art. I graduated from Arizona State University after earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts (photography), and then I promptly dove into the airline industry-that makes sense right? Life is funny like that! After 20 years of airline life the call to do something creative was too loud to ignore. I’ve spent every available minute since 2021 sharpening my skills. Along the way I’ve made some great friends who live all over the world through web-based classes and communities. We influence each other and spur growth as visual artists. I am here offering my skills to you because I believe whole heartedly life is good, memories are precious, and photography combines the best of our

lives and memories.

so why me?

When you work with me you can expect a service oriented, single photographer run, boutique portrait experience. This means individualized attention, and each session can be different. This is not a copy/paste enterprise. I do the work, all of it. As an undergraduate fine arts student my genre was landscape photography, but I really love and get joy from making portraits. My way of seeing subjects is always with intention, connection, and curiosity. I quoted John Bergers “Ways of Seeing” above because it was an influential part of my undergraduate education. It is my hope the way I see the world resonates for you.
